The Keuka College softball team traveled to Geneseo, N.Y. Tuesday afternoon for a non-conference doubleheader, and the Wolfpack were swept by the Knights on Raschi Field in Geneseo, N.Y.

Freshman Mickenzie Palmer (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads) went 4-for-7 with an RBI and a run scored, and junior Mackenzie Cole (Ogdensburg, N.Y./Ogdensburg Free Academy) reached base five times total in both games.

Keuka (2-4) fell 6-0 and 5-3 to Geneseo (8-9).

In the opener, the Knights slugged three home runs in the shutout win. Cole and Palmer each managed two hits for the Green and Gold.

Claire Vannewkirk hit a solo homerun in the third to give Geneseo a 1-0 lead, then the Knights struck for five runs in the fourth to seize control.

Kayleigh Blersch hit a solo homer and Ashley Fillmore smacked a three-run homer in the inning for Geneseo.

Junior Liz Warren (Elmira Heights, N.Y./Thomas A. Edison) took the loss, allowing six runs on 10 hits with no walks and two strikeouts over six innings. Warren fell to 2-1 on the year.

In the nightcap, the Green and Gold took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second. Junior Jessica Parmiter (Cortland, N.Y./Homer) hit a one-out infield single, moved to second on a groundout and scored on sophomore Tally McDonald's (Romulus, N.Y./Romulus) RBI double into right center field.

But Geneseo responded with three runs in the second, sparked by a two-run single from Taylor Knowles.

Keuka mounted a comeback in the fourth. Palmer singled and freshman Maddie Dupuis (Cohoes, N.Y./Cohoes) walked to put runners on first and second with no outs.

After a line out, sophomore Alysha Bachman (Seneca Falls, N.Y./Mynderse) dropped a single into right field to load the bases. Geneseo got a strikeout for the second out, but Cole drew a walk to score Palmer and trim the deficit to 3-2.

Mikayla Moore got out of the inning with back-to-back strikeouts to deny the Wolfpack any more runs.

Sophomore Brianna Bush (Penn Yan, N.Y./Penn Yan) retired Geneseo in order in the bottom of the fourth, and Keuka pulled even in the fifth. Junior Ally Muller (Bath, N.Y./Haverling) led off with a walk and scored on Palmer's RBI double to left center field.

Junior Nicole Wright (Seneca Castle, N.Y./Midlakes) pinch-ran for Palmer, and Wright advanced to third on a single from Dupuis.

But Moore used a foul out and a pop out to escape the jam and keep the score tied at 3.

Bush again retired Geneseo in order in the fifth, but the Wolfpack were held scoreless in the top of the sixth.

In Geneseo's half of the sixth, the Knights scored twice to earn the win.

Palmer was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored, Dupuis was 2-for-3 with a walk, and Cole was 0-for-1 with an RBI and three walks for Keuka.

Bush took the loss, falling to 0-3 after allowing five runs (three earned) on six hits with two walks and three strikeouts.

Keuka hosts Penn College Wednesday in a NEAC doubleheader.
