Junior Ally Muller (Bath, N.Y./Haverling) drove in four runs, while sophomore Samantha Blum (Niskayuna, N.Y./Colonie) and freshman Maddie Dupuis (Cohoes, N.Y./Cohoes) each had two RBI as the Keuka College softball team scored 11 first-inning runs in a 12-4 win over Morrisville State Friday in game one of a NEAC doubleheader.

But the Wolfpack (2-2, 2-2 NEAC) suffered a 7-1 defeat in the nightcap to split the doubleheader at the Adirondack Sports Complex in Queensbury, N.Y.

Muller and freshman Katelyn Warren (Elmira Heights, N.Y./Thomas A. Edison) each had two hits in the opener, while Warren scored three runs and Muller and Blum scored twice in the five-inning win.

Junior Liz Warren (Elmira Heights, N.Y./Thomas A. Edison) allowed four runs on six hits with one walk and four strikeouts to improve to 2-0.

Keuka sent 16 batters to the plate during the 11-run first inning. Blum had an RBI double and drove in two runs in the inning, while Muller added an RBI single and a bases-clearing double as the Green and Gold used seven hits and four walks to break the game open.

Sophomore Brianna Long (Arkport, N.Y./Dansville) added an RBI single in the third for Keuka, which out-hit Morrisville 11-6 in the opener.

The Green and Gold dropped the nightcap despite enjoying a 9-6 edge in hits vs. the Mustangs (5-10, 2-5).

Morrisville State scored a run in the first and third innings, and Elizabeth Miller smacked a two-run home run as part of a five-run fifth as the Mustangs took a 7-0 lead.

Junior Mackenzie Cole (Ogdensburg, N.Y./Ogdensburg Free Academy) smacked a home run to lead off the bottom of the fifth, but Keuka was unable to pull any closer and split its doubleheader with Morrisville State.

Muller was 2-for-3 with a walk, and junior Jessica Parmiter (Cortland, N.Y./Homer) was 2-for-3 in the loss.

Sophomore Brianna Bush (Penn Yan, N.Y./Penn Yan) took the loss, allowing six runs (five earned) on six hits with two strikeouts and one walk in 4 1/3 innings pitched.

Keuka travels to SUNY Geneseo Tuesday for a non-conference doubleheader.
