Solomon Shabazz Named NEAC Defensive Player of the Week

LATHAM, N.Y. — Keuka College freshman Solomon Shabazz has been named North Eastern Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

The week started for Shabazz as he earned his first start at Elmira College. He posted a pair of kills and three blocks against the Soaring Eagles. His performance increased over the weekend with three kills and a block against Bard. The freshman capped the weekend with a season-high six kills and four blocks in a sweep of Wilkes University.

Solomon Shabazz has the early lead in the North Eastern Athletic Conference averaging 1.22 blocks per set. The freshman also leads the Wolves with 11 blocks on the year.

The Keuka College Men's Volleyball team plays their first home games of the season this weekend. The Wolves will host SUNY Poly on Saturday and the College of St. Elizabeth on Sunday. Both of the North Eastern Athletic Conference matches will start at 1pm.
