Men’s Volleyball Drops Season-Opener to #4 Endicott

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — The Keuka College Men's Volleyball was swept by nationally-ranked Endicott College in the Wolves' first match of the 2020 season.

JP Nery led Keuka College (0-1) with 11 kills. Brad McKnight added nine kills and a team-best eight digs in the loss.

#4 Endicott College 3 vs. Keuka College 0 – 25-23, 25-20, 25-22

The Wolves and Gulls played a very tight first set as it was tied several times and featured numerous lead changes. The largest lead was four points by Endicott midway through the set, but the Wolves rallied. Keuka got the score tied at 23-23 following a kill by McKnight, but the Gulls got a kill and a block on the next two points to win the set 25-23.

Endicott jumped out to an early 10-4 lead over Keuka in the second set. The Wolves would narrow the margin, but would never be able to pull the set level as the Gulls won the second 25-20.

Keuka broke out the fast start in the third set, leading 5-1 early. However, Endicott went on a run, outscoring Keuka 9-2 over a stretch in the middle of the frame to take the lead. Endicott would not let the lead slip away as they continued onto the 25-22 third set victory, sweeping the match.

  • Friday marked the first ever meeting between Keuka College and Endicott College in men's volleyball
  • The Wolves are now 0-8 against nationally-ranked teams. The #4 ranking by Endicott was the highest-ranked team Keuka College has ever faced
  • Brad McKnight had an efficient night. He did not commit an error while hitting his nine kills against the Gulls
  • Kamren Record led the Green and Gold with 25 assists on the evening

Up Next for Keuka College: The JWU Tip-off Tournament concludes tomorrow for Keuka College. The Wolves face the host Johnson & Wales Wildcats at 11am and then wrap up the day with a match against Baruch at 1pm.
