Wolves Fall to Nationally-Ranked Chargers

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Men's Volleyball team lost on Friday night to #11 ranked Lancaster Bible College in straight sets in a North Eastern Athletic Conference match at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center.

Keuka College (9-8, 1-3 NEAC) was led by freshman Brad McKnight with eight kills. Kamren Record had 26 assists and Seth Welker added 13 digs for the Wolves.

#11 Lancaster Bible College 3 at Keuka College 0 – 25-21, 25-20, 25-15

The Chargers took an early lead over the Wolves, but Keuka College rallied back. The Wolves scored four straight to tie the set at 9-9. Keuka College would later take a 12-10 lead over the Chargers on an ace by Brad McKnight. The set would be tied at 16-16, but Lancaster Bible College pulled away late to win the set 25-21.

Keuka College would once again hold a lead in the second set, 13-10, but Lancaster Bible College took the lead back with four unanswered points. The second set would be tied 18-18 following a solo block by Christian Nickerson. However, the Chargers would score seven of the next nine points as they won the second set 25-20 and a 2-0 lead in the match.

The Chargers controlled the third set from the start. Keuka College had their worst set of the match with seven kills and seven errors. Lancaster Bible College won the third 25-15 to sweep the match.

  • The Wolves fall to 6-7 all-time against Lancaster Bible College. The Chargers have won the last four matches
  • It was the fifth time overall and second time at home that Keuka has faced a nationally-ranked team. The Wolves are 0-5 in those matches
  • Seth Welker's 13 digs ranked as one of the top ten defensive performances in a three-set match for Keuka College

Up Next for Keuka College: The Green and Gold remain at home on Saturday as they host Wilson College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference match. Keuka College and Wilson split their two meetings last season.
