Keuka College Loses to Wells College in Men’s Volleyball

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Men's Volleyball team lost on Sunday afternoon to Wells College 3-0 in a North Eastern Athletic Conference match at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center.

Connor Gail led Keuka College (4-11, 1-2 NEAC) with nine kills in the match. He also tied for the team lead with six digs. Fellow senior Chris Corcoran had 14 assists for Keuka College in the match.

Wells College 3 at Keuka College 0 – 25-10, 25-15, 25-21

Wells College jumped out on Keuka College fast on Sunday. The Express had 15 kills in the opening set while the Wolves only had two. The Express took the first set 25-10.

Keuka College played a better second set with nine kills in the frame. However, Wells College used a five-point run in the middle of the set to push their lead to eight points. Wells continued tonto the 25-15 victory.

In the third set, Keuka College took advantage of 12 Express errors, but Wells was able to overcome the negative hitting percentage. The wolves would narrow the margin down to three at multiple times in the set, but they were unable to overcome the Express lead as Wells College won the third set 25-21 and took the match 3-0.

  • Keuka College is 4-8 all-time against Wells College including a 2-8 mark in North Eastern Athletic Conference games
  • Chris Corcoran surpassed 2,000 career assists in the match. The senior was already the career leader in assists at Keuka College
  • Connor Gail moved onto the top ten list with 171 kills this season

Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves will play their first road conference matches of the season next weekend. Keuka College will play at Penn St.-Altoona on Saturday and Wilson College on Sunday.
