BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Keuka College Men's Volleyball team won their first match of the day against Hilbert College but fell in the nightcap to Medaille College on Saturday in a North Eastern Athletic Conference Crossover hosted by D'Youville College
Keuka College (8-13, 4-11 NEAC) was led by Connor Gail. The junior had a combined 31 kills on the day to go along with 20 digs. Jared Kucko finished with 19 kills and 17 digs in the matches. The offense ran through Chris Corcoran who totaled 72 assists in the two matches. Spencer Avery led the defensive efforts with 32 digs for the Green and Gold including 22 against Hilbert College.
Keuka College 3 (25, 20, 25, 25) vs. Hilbert College 1 (16, 25, 22, 17)
Keuka College got out to a fast start against the Hawks on Saturday. The Wolves grew a 15-5 lead in the first set. Keuka continued onto the 25-16 first set victory. However Hilbert played most of the second set in the lead and took the set 25-20 to level the match at 1-1. The third set was extremely close. Keuka trailed 19-17 but scored the next five points to take the lead, 22-19, and won the set 25-22. The Wolves put it away in the fourth. The Green and Gold had a match-high 15 kills in the set, finishing the match at 3-1 with a 25-17 fourth set victory.
Lead Wolf: Connor Gail led the offense for Keuka College against the Hawks. The junior had a career-high 16 kills in the four-set victory. Gail also helped on the defensive side with 11 digs, his third double-double of the season.
Keuka College 1 (21, 14, 25, 20) vs. Medaille College 3 (25, 25, 21, 25)
Keuka College scored the first three points of the match, but Medaille College established a lead and held it for most of the set. The Wolves did narrow it down to one point at 22-21, but the Mavericks won the last three points to take the first set 25-21. The Mavericks used a 12-2 run in the second set to comfortably take a 2-0 lead in the match, winning the set 25-14. The Wolves came back in the third. They played the entire set out in front, leading by as many as eight points. A kill by Connor Gail ended the third with the Wolves winning it 25-21. Medaille looked to close it out in the fourth. They led 23-15 in the set, but Keuka went on a run. The Wolves scored five straight points, but it was not enough as Medialle College closed out the set 25-20, winning the match 3-1.
Lead Wolf: Chris Corcoran finished the match with 31 assists for the Wolves, but he made his mark from the service line. Corcoran had five aces in the loss. It tied Connor Hinman in 2014 for the most aces in a four-set match in school history.
- Keuka College improves to 8-1 against Hilbert College. The Wolves have won the last seven meetings with the Hawks.

Coming up for Keuka College: The Wolves will conclude their 2017 North Eastern Athletic Conference schedule on Sunday afternoon as they face weekend hosts D'Youville College. Keuka College defeated D'Youville 3-1 earlier this season.
