Men's Volleyball Breaks Record for Wins in a Season

The Keuka College men's volleyball team picked up a pair of victories during the third North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) crossover competition Saturday afternoon in Keuka Park, N.Y., as the Wolfpack set a school record for wins in a season.

Keuka (13-6, 6-3 NEAC) swept Lancaster Bible College by a score of 25-18, 25-14 and 25-15, before earning a four-set win over Penn State-Altoona by scores of 20-25, 25-21, 25-22 and 25-19.

Junior Connor Hinman (Lethbridge, Alberta/Catholic Central) recorded 12 kills with 4 digs and 3 aces, and classmate Josh Makin (Lethbridge, Alberta/Catholic Central) added five kills with one block in the sweep of the Chargers. Makin did not record an error in six attacks (.833 hitting percentage).

Freshman Aaron Brill (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif./Palos Verdes) added four kills with two aces, and classmate Connor Gail (Euclid, Ohio/Villa Angela-St. Joseph) added four kills in the sweep.

Freshman Chris Corcoran (Big Flats, N.Y./Horseheads) handed out 21 assists, sophomore Spencer Avery (Hamburg, N.Y./Frontier) had 13 assists, and junior Cooper Lyon (Lethbridge, Alberta/Catholic Central) led the Wolfpack with seven digs in the win over the Chargers.

Taking on Altoona, Brill had 13 kills with 3 digs and 2 blocks, Hinman added 12 kills with 6 digs and 3 aces, and Makin added nine kills with five blocks as Keuka broke the record for wins in a season (12), set during the program's first year (2013).

Junior Tom Campbell (Penfield, N.Y./Penfield) added eight kills with four blocks, Corcoran recorded 36 assists with 11 digs, Lyon added 17 digs, and freshman Tim Jackson (Farmington, N.Y./Victor) had six kills with four blocks for the Wolfpack.

Makin hit .450 (no errors in 20 attacks), while Campbell hit .412 (one error in 17 attacks), and Brill hit .267 (five errors in 30 attacks) to power Keuka.

The Green and Gold travel to Lancaster Bible College for the fourth NEAC crossover Saturday. Keuka plays Wells College at 1 p.m. and SUNY Polytechnic at 3 p.m.
