The Keuka College men's volleyball team concluded the second North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) crossover competition with a 1-2 record as the Wolfpack swept Hilbert College, were swept by Medaille College, and dropped a five-set decision to D'Youville College in Altoona, Pa.
Keuka (11-6, 4-3 NEAC) lost the first set to D'Youville 25-23, before winning the second 25-14. After losing the third 25-22, Keuka forced a decisive fifth set with a 25-23 win. But the Spartans (7-4, 5-0) remained undefeated in five NEAC clashes, winning 15-12 Friday night.
The Wolfpack then swept Hilbert (1-16, 1-5) by scores of 25-22, 26-24 and 25-22, before being swept by Medaille (8-10, 5-1) by scores of 25-23, 25-18 and 25-23 Saturday.
Taking on D'Youville, freshman Aaron Brill (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif./Palos Verdes) set a career-high with 15 kills and added 10 digs for his first collegiate double-double.
Junior Connor Hinman (Lethbridge, Alberta/Catholic Central) recorded his third double-double with 18 digs and 14 kills, and hit .324 (three errors in 34 attacks), and classmate Tom Campbell (Penfield, N.Y./Penfield) added 10 kills with 4 digs and 4 blocks for the Wolfpack. Campbell sported a .375 hitting percentage (one error in 24 attacks) for Keuka.
Freshman Chris Corcoran (Big Flats, N.Y./Horseheads) handed out 43 assists with 13 digs, junior Cooper Lyon (Lethbridge, Alberta/Catholic Central) added 16 digs, and freshman Tim Jackson (Farmington, N.Y./Victor) recorded seven kills with three digs against D'Youville.
Facing Hilbert, Brill equaled his season high with 15 kills and recorded 13 digs for his second consecutive double-double. Hinman added 10 kills with 8 digs, 5 aces and 3 blocks, and Corcoran added 26 assists with four digs in the sweep.
Campbell and Jackson each added five kills, Lyon had 15 digs, and junior Josh Makin (Lethbridge, Alberta/Catholic Central) recorded 4 kills with 4 digs and 2 blocks in the win.
Closing out the competition against Medaille, Hinman had 11 kills, Brill had five kills with five digs, and Campbell added five kills for the Wolfpack.
Corcoran tallied 23 assists with four digs, Lyon had eight digs, and Makin finished with four kills as the Wolfpack were swept for just the third time in 17 matches.
The Green and Gold host the third NEAC crossover Saturday. Keuka plays Lancaster (Pa.) Bible College at 1 p.m. and Penn State-Altoona at 5 p.m. Saturday.
