Sophomore Connor Hinman (Lethbridge, Alberta/Catholic Central) recorded 13 kills with eight digs and senior Devin Lesch (San Diego, CA/El Cajon Valley) and sophomore Tom Campbell (Penfield, NY/Penfield) each added 10 kills, but the Keuka College men's volleyball team fell to Hilbert College in four sets Sunday afternoon.
The Storm (3-8) dropped the first set, 29-27, rallied to win the second, 25-21, but dropped the next two sets by scores of 25-20 and 25-15 against the Hawks (4-12).
Hinman recorded double-digit kills for the fourth time in the last five matches while Lesch and Campbell both hit above .200 for the Storm. Lesch hit .296 after compiling two errors in 27 attempts while Campbell hit .208 with five errors in 24 attempts.
Junior Ryan Kelly (Clifton Springs, NY/Midlakes) had 17 assists with 7 total blocks and 5 digs, freshman Derek Hosken (Hamburg, NY/Frontier) added 7 blocks with 4 kills and 3 digs and Hinman added five blocks as the Green and Gold had 22 total blocks.
Sophomore Christopher Mooring (Chesapeake, VA/Hickory) compiled a team-high 14 digs, classmate Josh Makin (Lethbridge, Alberta/Catholic Central) added six kills with six digs and freshman John Sprague (Fairport, NY/Penfield) handed out 20 assists with three digs for Keuka.
Keuka will compete in the annual Bard Invitational this Friday and Saturday. The Storm face CCNY at 6 p.m. Friday night in the first of four tournament matches for Keuka.
