The Keuka College men's volleyball team concluded the season-opening Johnson & Wales Tip-Off Tournament with a pair of losses to Regis (Mass.) College and host Johnson & Wales (R.I.) University Saturday afternoon.
Keuka (0-3) fell to Regis by scores of 25-14, 27-25 and 27-25, and to Johnson & Wales by scores of 25-16, 25-15 and 25-16 on day two of tournament action.
Taking on Regis, sophomore Tom Campbell (Penfield, NY/Penfield) recorded eight kills with three total blocks, classmate Connor Hinman (Lethbridge, Alberta/Catholic Central) had 8 kills with 5 digs and 2 blocks and sophomore Christopher Mooring (Chesapeake, VA/Hickory) tallied seven kills for the Storm.
Freshman Derek Hosken (Hamburg, NY/Frontier) added 6 kills with 4 blocks and 3 digs, junior Ryan Kelly (Clifton Springs, NY/Midlakes) had 17 assists with four digs and sophomore Josh Makin (Lethbridge, Alberta/Catholic Center) added four digs with three kills in the loss.
In the nightcap, Hinman recorded seven kills with six digs, Kelly had 13 assists and Makin contributed four kills in the three-set setback.
Campbell added two kills with two digs while sophomore Luke Ferruzza (Penfield, NY/Webster Schroeder) had three kills for the Green and Gold.
Hinman was one of six student-athletes selected for the All-Tournament team.
Keuka, which in the program's first season captured the North Eastern Athletic Conference's (NEAC) postseason championship in 2013, travels to NEAC rival SUNYIT for the SUNYIT Invitational, Saturday, Feb. 1.
The Storm will play Valley Forge Christian and Southern Vermont during the one-day competition.
