LATHAM, N.Y. — For the second time in his career, senior defender Claude Tuyishimire (Syracuse, N.Y. / Nottingham) has been voted First Team All-North Eastern Athletic Conference by the league's coaches.
Tuyishimire burst onto the scene for Keuka College in his freshman season with a first team selection. He then backed that up with a second team selection as a sophomore. It is the 14th time in program history that Keuka has had a men's soccer player earn all-conference three times in his career. The Men's Soccer program at Keuka College has had at least one first team selection in every season of the North Eastern Athletic Conference.
Tuyishimire started every game on defense for Keuka College. The senior netted three goals on the season and set a new season-best with three assists this season. He proved to be a threat on corner kicks, heading in goals in back-to-back games in September. Tuyishimire also proved to be in the right place at the right time in setting up goals as he assisted on the game-tying goals in Keuka's dramatic comeback victories over Lancaster Bible College and Penn St.-Abington.
The Wolves shutout SUNY Poly on Tuesday in the quarterfinals of the North Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament. The Green and Goal advance to the weekend where they will face Penn St.-Abington in the semi-finals on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 2pm with Penn St.-Harrisburg serving as tournament hosts.
