Men’s Soccer Falls in Overtime to Morrisville State

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. — The North Eastern Athletic Conference opener for the Keuka College Men's Soccer team took longer than 90 minute, but the results were unfavorable as the Wolves fell to hosts Morrisville State in overtime 1-0.

Keuka College controlled the play in the first half, outshooting the Mustangs 8-5 in the frame. The keeper for Morrisville State made all five saves in the first half. At the other end of the field, Ryan Velte made a pair of saves as the game went to halftime scoreless.

The second half flipped the script as Morrisville State outshot Keuka 7-5 and held a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks. Velte made four saves in the half as neither team would score and the game would go to overtime.

In the first overtime period, Morrisville State got loose on a breakaway down the right side of the field and went top left, past Velte and in as the Mustangs won 1-0 in overtime.
