Wolves Fall at Home to Oswego State

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Men's Lacrosse team lost to Oswego State 12-5 on Saturday at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex.

Seth Spurgeon led Keuka College (2-3) with three goals. Adding tallies for the Wolves were Connor Cupp and Kasey Gallina. Nikoli Biljanoski made 16 saves in goal for the Wolves.

The Lakers opened the scoring on Saturday with a pair of goals for the early lead. Seth Spurgeon cut the margin to one as he scored on the break with Ethan Marchitell getting the assist. Oswego State responded with four goals to close the quarter, leading 6-1.

The second quarter was all Keuka as the Green and Gold were the only team to score in the frame. Connor Cupp opened the scoring in the second and Spurgeon followed that with his second of the game two minutes later. Kasey Gallina capped the scoring in the second. Biljanoski made six saves in the quarter as the Wolves made it a two goal game, 6-4 at halftime.

Oswego State scored three goals in the first five minutes of the second half to push their lead to 9-4. Spurgeon got a goal back, but the Wolves trailed 9-5 going to the fourth.

The Lakers sealed the game in the final quarter as they scored three goals while shutting out the Wolves. Oswego State defeated Keuka College 12-5.

Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves remain at home with a non-conference game under the lights on Monday night. Keuka College will welcome Houghton College to the Jephson Community Athletic Complex for a 7pm game on March 25. The Wolves defeated the Highlanders 21-8 in Houghton last season.
