GANSEVOORT, N.Y.— After his seven goal performance against Elmira College on Sunday, Keuka College junior Andrew Burns was named Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week by the North Eastern Athletic Conference.
Burns first got on the board late in the second quarter, netting a pair of goals before halftime. Out of the locker room, he added his third goal, going on a personal 3-0 run. Burns capped the performance with four goals in the fourth quarter, three coming on man-up opportunities. It was a career-high for Burns. He became the 10th player in Keuka College history to score seven goals in a game and tied the record for most man-up goals in a game with three.
Andrew Burns holds the early scoring lead in the North Eastern Athletic Conference with eight goals on the season and nine total points. He also leads the NEAC in man-up goals and shots on goal.
Keuka College will return to action with weekend with a road game at Brockport. The Golden Eagles were one of just two teams to defeat Keuka in 2016, winning 9-4 at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex. Keuka and Brockport will faceoff at Brockport at 3pm.
