KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Keuka College Men's Lacrosse team defeated SUNY Poly 17-4 on Saturday in a North Eastern Athletic Conference matchup.
Keuka College (11-2, 7-1 NEAC) finishes the regular season as the #2 team in the conference. They will host #3 seeded Cazenovia College at 4pm on Wednesday in the NEAC Semi-Finals.
Nine different players scored for Keuka College in the win, but the seniors stole the show on Senior Day. Seniors Tyler Skowronski and Sam Cooper each scored four goals on the afternoon. Fellow seniors Brendan King and Matt Beebe each added a pair of goals. Rounding out the scoring for the Class of 2016 was Clayton Vaughn with a goal. Also adding goals for the Green and Gold was Dillon Springer, Peter DiLaura, Andrew Burns, and Sean Silkworth.
Keuka took an early lead against the Wildcats on Monday. They opened the game on a 7-0 run. SUNY Poly scored their first goal of the game with 54 seconds left in the first quarter, but Tyler Skowronski answered with a goal 44 seconds later as Keuka led 8-1 after the first quarter.
The Green and Gold continued to extend their lead in the second. Sam Cooper scored all four of his goals in the quarter as Keuka led 14-3 at the break.
Scoring slowed in the third as each team only netted one goal in the frame. Keuka got theirs from Dillon Springer. It was the first of the freshman's career. Keuka held a 15-4 advantage going into the final quarter.
Keuka College added a pair of goals in the fourth quarter while shutting out the Wildcats. Peter DiLaura scored a man-down goal for Keuka and Sean Silkworth scored his first career goal as Keuka defeated SUNY Poly 17-4.
