HAMBURG, N.Y. – The Keuka College Men's Lacrosse team defeated Hilbert College 19-5 on Wednesday in a North Eastern Athletic Conference matchup.
Keuka College (10-2, 6-1 NEAC) will return home on Saturday for the final game of the regular season. Keuka will host SUNY Poly at 1pm at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex.
Andrew Burns scored a career-high six goals in the victory. Tyler Skowronski added four goals and Brendan King finished with three goals and three assists. Senior Matt Beebe had a five point game against the Hawks with one goal and four assists. Rounding out the scoring for Keuka was Sam Cooper with two goals, Patrick Giardino, Matt Mahalick, and Dustin Springer each with one tally.
Andrew Burns opened the scoring for Keuka 1:25 into the game, but Hilbert answered to tie the game at 1-1. The Green and Gold closed the first quarter on a 4-0 run. They got goals from Skowronski, King, Burns, and Beebe to lead 5-1 after one quarter.
The run for Keuka continued in the second quarter. They scored the first five goals of the second quarter to grow the lead to 10-1. Hilbert scored a pair of goals in 35 seconds, but Matt Beebe set up Matt Mahalick for a goal with 56 second left in the quarter. The Green and Gold led 11-3 going into the halftime break.
Brendan King and Andrew Burns combined for goals in the opening four minutes of the third quarter to push the lead to 10 goals, 13-3. The Hawks netted a pair of goals, but Burns added his second of the quarter as Keuka maintained their lead going to the final quarter.
The fourth quarter was all Keuka College. They outscored Hilbert College 5-0 in the frame to secure the 19-5 conference victory.
