Murrelle Takes Third at Elmira Country Club

ELMIRA, N.Y. — The Keuka College Men's Golf team had their final tune-up before the North Eastern Athletic Conference Championship this weekend as the Wolves played in the Elmira College Spring Invitational.

The Green and Gold finished in seventh place in the 12-team field, just three strikes behind sixth place and ahead of Medaille, Hobart, Nazareth, Elmira, and Morrisville State.

Elmira College Spring Invitational – Par 72

Lead Wolf: Ryan Murrelle posted a third place finish for the Wolves, shooting a 77. His +5 score was the best by a Keuka College golfer at Elmira Country Club since the 2008-09 season.

KC Notes:

  • It was the 11th time that Keuka College has entered the Elmira College Spring Invitational and 10th time at the Elmira Country Club
  • Third place finish by Murrelle was the second-best ever by a Keuka College golfer in this tournament
  • Ryan Murrelle continues his strong freshman year. He has defeated 275 golfers in the field this season, fourth best in program history
  • Clayton Chandler's 85 was a season-best for the sophomore

Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves will now play in the 2019 North Eastern Athletic Conference Championship. It will be held this weekend at Foxchase Golf Club in Stevens, Pa. The two-round tournament is being hosted by Penn St.-Berks.
