NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. – The Keuka College Men's Golf team opened their 2016-17 season playing in the Utica College Fall Invitational this past weekend at the Yahnundasis Golf Club in New Hartford.
The Wolves improved their second round score by 19 strokes, but finished in 11th place with an overall score of 743.
All four Keuka golfers improved by at least three strokes on the second day of competition. They were led by Rory Doremus who shot an 89 in the second round to move up four places in the standings and finish in 44th place with a 182. Right behind him in 45th place was freshman Anthony Hranek. He shot a 93 and a 90 on the weekend for a 183 total.
Sophomores Luke Labuski and Ben Cacciaglia rounded out the Keuka team. Labuski shaved three strokes off his first round score to finish with a 187. Ben Cacciaglia made the biggest jump on the day for Keuka. The sophomore shot nine strokes better in the second round to post a career-low round of 91, finishing with a 191 total score.
Keuka College will now prepare for their home event, the Keuka College Fall Invitational that will be played at Lakeside Country Club in Penn Yan, N.Y. on Wednesday, September 14.
