Keuka College Finishes 5th at NEAC Championship

COBLESKILL, N.Y. – The Keuka College Men's Golf team finished in fifth place at the North Eastern Athletic Conference Championship.

The tournament was hosted by SUNY Cobleskill and the Cobleskill Gold and Country Club.

Freshman Nic Romano started the tournament strong with a team best 82 in round one on the par 70 course. Joseph Petrie was in 20th place following the opening 18 holes with an 86. Keuka was tied for fifth place following the first round.

On Sunday, Romano and Tom Reynolds both shot a team-low 84. Nic Romano finished with a 166, coming in a tie for 14th and earning Third Team All-North Eastern Athletic Conference honors. Reynolds was the second best finisher on the team with a 171 on the weekend, coming in 19th place. Finished third for Keuka was Rory Doremus who shot a 174 and Ryan Piersimoni rounded out the scoring with a 178. As a team, the Green and Gold shot a 342 on the weekend, good for fifth place.

The conference championship was won by Rutgers-Camden for the fourth consecutive year.
