Men's Golf Ends Season With Third-Place Finish at Cobleskill

The Keuka College men's golf team placed third during the annual SUNY Cobleskill Spring Invitational Friday afternoon in Canajoharie, N.Y.

Freshman Ryan Piersimoni (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads) carded a round of 89 on the par-71, 6,146-yard Canajoharie Country Club course to finish as Keuka's low golfer for the sixth time in nine competitions.

Keuka shot a 367, good for third place out of four teams. Host Cobleskill claimed the team title with a 318, followed by Morrisville State (345), Keuka and Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (381).

Freshman Michael Parrow (Waterloo, N.Y./Waterloo) finished in a tie for 14th after shooting a 91, while sophomore Joseph Petrie (Sanborn, N.Y./Starpoint) shot a 92 to place 16th.

Junior Ben Schreiber (Hilton, N.Y./Hilton) finished tied for 17th after his round of 95, while freshman Travis Pelkey (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) placed 20th with his round of 99 in the Green and Gold's final event of the season.

Cobleskill's Clark Leonelli fired a three-over par round of 74 to edge teammate Shawn Westridge by three strokes for the medalist honors.

Twenty-five student-athletes competed in the annual Cobleskill Spring Invitational.
