Men’s Golf Places 4th at Elmira Spring Invite

The Keuka College men's golf team placed fourth during the annual Elmira College Spring Invitational Tuesday as sophomore Joseph Petrie (Sanborn, N.Y./Starpoint) finished as Keuka's medalist for the first time in his career.

Petrie placed 11th overall after shooting an 88 on the par-72, 6,687-yard Elmira Country Club course in Elmira, N.Y.

Petrie and the Green and Gold shot a 379 to place fourth out of four squads.

SUNY Oswego recorded a team score of 337 to edge host Elmira by one stroke for the team title.

Elmira's Brandon Payne recorded an 81 to edge Evan Clarke (Elmira) and Omari Howard (Oswego) for the individual medalist.

Freshman Ryan Piersimoni (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads) finished 13th after his round of 90, while junior Ben Schreiber (Hilton, N.Y./Hilton) placed 17th after carding a 98.

Freshman Rory Doremus (Ilion, N.Y./Notre Dame) finished 18th and classmate Michael Parrow (Waterloo, N.Y./Waterloo) was 19th to round out the Wolfpack student-athletes.

Nineteen student-athletes competed in the annual Elmira Spring Invitational.

Keuka concludes the 2015 season Friday at the SUNY Cobleskill Spring Invitational.
