The Keuka College men's golf team logged a fourth-place finish during Wednesday's annual Keuka College Spring Invitational to kick off the 2015 portion of competition.
Freshman Ryan Piersimoni (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads) recorded a round of 87 on the par-72, 6,549-yard Lakeside Country Club course in nearby Penn Yan, N.Y. to finish as Keuka's low golfer.
The Green and Gold shot 361 as a team to place fourth. Oswego State had the top two finishers and won the team title with a score of 317, followed by Elmira College (326), Penn College of Technology (352), and Keuka.
The competition drew 21 golfers from four schools.
Oswego's Tyler Wurzer and Kyle Gaillard each carded a five-over round of 77, with Wurzer winning the medalist honors on a tiebreaker.
Keuka's top five student-athletes finished six strokes apart on the leaderboard.
Freshman Rory Doremus (Ilion, N.Y./Notre Dame) was 17th following a round of 92, while junior Ben Schreiber (Hilton, N.Y./Hilton) rounded out the Wolfpack's top five finishers, placing 18th with a score of 94.
Keuka next competes in the annual North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) championships, held Saturday and Sunday at the Pennsauken Country Club on the campus of the University of Rutgers-Camden.
