The Keuka College men's golf team traveled to Elmira, N.Y. for the annual Elmira College Fall Invitational, and the Storm placed ninth at the event, held at the Elmira Country Club.
Freshman Harrison Sardella (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) led the Storm with a score of 99, good for 37th place on the par-72, 6,652-yard course as the Storm earned a ninth-place finish with a team score of 424. It was his second straight competition finishing as the Storm's top golfer.
Host Elmira carded a team score of 314 to edge SUNY Delhi by four strokes for the team championship. SUNY Delhi's "B" squad was third (329), followed by Oswego State (331), Elmira's "B" team (336), SUNY Canton (336), SUNY Cobleskill (347), Baptist Bible College (371) and Keuka.
Elmira's Evan Clarke carded a one-over par round of 73 to best Canton's Mike Reilly by three strokes for the individual title. Forty six golfers from nine schools competed in the invitational.
Freshman Nicholas Morgan (Walworth, NY/Gananda) was second among the Storm's golfers and tied for 39th while junior Cory Marone (Marion, NY/Marion) placed 43rd, junior Lee Bottoni (Prattsburth, NY/Prattsburgh) was 44th and junior Aaron Arnold (Erin, NY/Spencer-Van Etten) placed 46th.
The Storm next compete in the annual Keuka College Fall Invitational Thursday morning at the Lakeside Country Club in Penn Yan, N.Y.
