KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Keuka College Men's Basketball team lost on Sunday to North Eastern Athletic Conference foe Cazenovia College by the score of 86-68 at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center.
The Wolves (3-16, 3-11 NEAC) make their final roadtrip of the season next weekend with games at Wilson College and Gallaudet University.
Cameron Winston scored a team-high 16 points for the Wolves. Trevor Powell scored 13 points and was tied for the team-lead with six rebounds. Also with six rebounds for the Wolves was Cliff Stevens and Dekhari Stewart. Rounding out the high-scorers for the Green and Gold was Dylan Doupe with 12 points.
In Keuka College's first possession, Dylan Doupe knocked down a three for the Wolves. After a Cazenovia basket, Doupe made a layup for the early Keuka lead. The Green and Gold would push their lead out to six points, 22-16 following a Powell three halfway through the first, but this would prove to be their largest lead of the game. The Wildcats erased the advantage with six points in under a minute. Both teams would trade the lead, but Cazenovia scored 12 of the final 14 points of the half to lead 44-35 at the break.
The Wolves fought to stay in the game in the second half. A baseline jumper by Dekhari Stewart cut the lead to six, 45-39, but the Wildcats answered with six straight to push the lead to double figures. Once again, the Wolves would rally. Back-to-back threes by Greg Tyler but the lead to five, 50-45, however another run by Cazenovia re-established their lead. The Wildcats would go on to defeat Keuka College 86-68.
