ALFRED, N.Y. – The Keuka College Men's Basketball team lost on Tuesday night at Alfred University by the score of 87-74 in a non-conference game.

Keuka College (0-4) remains on the road next Wednesday as they travel to Morrisville State College on November 30 for their first North Eastern Athletic Conference game.

Sophomore Trevor Powell led Keuka College with a career-high 17 points. He also added six rebounds on the night. Greg Tyler added 16 points in the loss.

Keuka College held an early 12-10 lead five minutes into the game following a second-chance layup by Powell. A three-pointer by the Saxons gave Alfred the lead, one they would not relinquish. Alfred grew their lead to 10 points, 26-16 halfway through the first. A three by Powell late in the first made it a five-point game, 38-33, but Alfred responded, stretching their lead back to double-digits. Once again, Powell hit a three in the final minute of the half as Keuka came back to trail by only five, 45-40, at halftime.

Opening the second half, a layup by Powell narrowed the margin to three, 47-44, but the Saxons went on a run. The Wolves were held without a field goal for nearly five minutes as Alfred University went on a 15-2 run to take control of the game. The Saxons would lead by as many as 21 in the half and Keuka College was not able to narrow the deficit below 10 points as the Saxons defeated the Wolves 87-74.
