KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Field Hockey team lost on Wednesday afternoon at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex to Keystone College 5-1.
Keystone College 5 at Keuka College 1
The Giants wasted little time getting on the board on Wednesday as a long shot made it into the goal three minutes in for the early lead. Keuka College had a chance late in the quarter as Alyssa Muszak found herself on a one-on-one with a Keystone defender. The defender held her ground and forced Muszak wide of goal as the game remained 1-0 after the first quarter.
Keystone College controlled the play in the second, holding Keuka without a shot or corner in the frame. The Giants doubled their lead midway through the second and kept the 2-0 advantage into halftime.
Keystone added to their lead with a pair of goals in the third quarter.
Keuka College pressed the entire fourth quarter. The Wolves had nine shots and nine corners in the final period. The Green and Gold got on the board as a Nicole Wilson rebound was shuttled back to her by Rielly Albee. Wilson beat the goalie to the left post to make it 4-1. Keystone responded minutes later, taking advantage of a Keuka turnover for a goal as the Giants defeated the Wolves 5-1.
Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves are on the road this weekend as they play at Sage Colleges. Keuka College defeated the Gators 1-0 in a shootout last season. Sage is one of the teams Keuka will face in conference play next fall as a member of the Empire 8 Conference.
