Field Hockey Falls in CSAC Semi-Finals

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — The Keuka College Field Hockey team lost in the Colonial States Athletic Conference Semi-Finals on Tuesday to hosts Wilson College by the score of 2-1.

Skylar Gilmore scored the lone goal for Keuka College (6-11) off of an assist from Shelby Lamb. Kassidy Valentine made seven saves in goal for the Wolves

Wilson College 2 vs. Keuka College 1 – CSAC Semi-Finals

Wilson College had the first chances on Tuesday, but Kassidy Valentine was there for the saves. Keuka College responded with four penalty corners in an eight-minute span. However, from those attempts, Keuka was unable to generate a shot. The Wolves were outshot 7-0 in the half, but the game went to halftime scoreless.

Keuka College would take the lead in the second half. Freshman Skylar Gilmore deflected in a pass from Shelby Lamb for her second goal of the season as the Wolves took a 1-0 lead with 11:25 left to play in the game. Wilson College had a quick response as the Phoenix hit home a rebound 58 seconds later to tie the game at 1-1. When it looked destine for overtime, Wilson College would take the lead with 2:43 left to play as they defeated Keuka College 2-1 on Tuesday.

KC Notes:

  • It was the first time that Keuka College competed in the CSAC Tournament. It was due to an agreement between the CSAC and the North Eastern Athletic Conference as the two leagues combined to fight for an NCAA bid
  • Keuka is now 2-3 all-time against Wilson College
  • Gilmore's goal was the 37th of the season for Keuka College. That tied the 2017 team for the school record
