Orsino and Valentine Earn Player of the Week Honors

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. — For the second time this season, the Keuka College Field Hockey team has swept the weekly awards by the North Eastern Athletic Conference. The NEAC announced on Tuesday that Alyssa Orsino was named Offensive Player of the Week and Kassidy Valentine was named Defensive Player of the Week.  

Alyssa Orsino scored in both games the past week for the Wolves. She gave the Green and Gold the lead against Elmira College last Tuesday before the Wolves eventually fell in a shootout. Orsino then scored three goals for her second career hat trick as Keuka College defeated Lancaster Bible College to finish the NEAC regular season with a 3-0 record. Orsino leads the conference with 10 goals and is tied for the NEAC lead with 22 total assists.

Kassidy Valentine was in goal for the Wolves in their shootout loss to Elmira College. The junior made a career-high 22 saves for the Wolves in the loss. It ranked as one of the top save performances in program history. Overall on the season, Valentine has 90 saves and recorded a conference-leading four victories. Her 3.11 goals against average is the best amongst NEAC goalies.

The Keuka College Field Hockey team won the regular season conference championship. The Wolves will host Wells College on Saturday night in the North Eastern Athletic Conference Championship Game.
