Orsino Hat Trick Leads Keuka College to NEAC Victory

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — Senior Alyssa Orsino scored a career-high three goals to lift Keuka College to a 4-3 North Eastern Athletic Conference victory over Morrisville State.

Emily Stallone scored the opening goal for Keuka College (3-7, 1-0 NEAC). Orsino then scored the final three goals of the game for the Wolves.

The Green and Gold took the early lead on the Mustangs. In the fourth minute, the Wolves were awarded a penalty corner. Off of the corner, Shelby Lamb got the ball in front. Her initial shot was stopped but she got the rebounded and passed it to Emily Stallone on the right side. The freshman shot it high and in for her first career goal, giving the Wolves a 1-0 lead. Midway through the first half, Alyssa Orsino doubled the Keuka College lead, converting a penalty stroke.

The Mustangs made the most of their halftime meeting as Morrisville State scored two goals in the opening five minutes of the second half to tie the game. The following minute, Keuka College regained the lead. Alyssa Orsino picked off a high clear by the Mustangs and took the ball down the field. A step into the arc on the left side, Orsino let a shot go that went five-hole on the Morrisville keeper to give the Wolves a 3-2 lead. Alyssa Orsino completed the hat trick in the 49th minute to extend the Keuka College lead. Morrisville State got one back and threatened with a corner as the clock read 0:00. Kassidy Valentine made a save for Keuka and cleared the ball to end the game with the Keuka College victory.

Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves have a week off to prepare for their next game. Keuka College will host King's College under the lights at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex. King's defeated Keuka 5-2 on their home turf last season.
