GANSEVOORT, N.Y. — The Keuka College Field Hockey team swept the weekly awards by the North Eastern Athletic Conference. Nicole Wilson was named Offensive Player of the Week while goalie Kassidy Valentine was named Defensive Player of the Week for the conference.
The week opened for the Wolves last Wednesday with a home game against SUNY Geneseo. In that game, Wilson scored a goal and picked up an assist for Keuka. Valentine made 12 saves in goal, but the Wolves fell 5-2 to the Knights. Keuka rebounded on Sunday against Sage. Following 90 scoreless minutes, the game went to a shootout. Wilson scored on her attempt and Valentine stopped all three attempts by Sage as the Wolves won the shootout 3-0.
The goal was the first of the season for Nicole Wilson after she led the Wolves in scoring as a freshman. In total this year, Wilson has a pair of assists to tie for second in the conference. Kassidy Valentine leads the NEAC with a 3.37 goals against average, over 2.50 better than second in the league. She also ranks third in the conference with a .632 save percentage and 36 total saves.
Keuka College will be on the road next as they travel to Nazareth College to face the Golden Flyers at 5pm on Wednesday.
