Wolves Downed at Houghton in Field Hockey

HOUGHTON, N.Y. — The Keuka College Field Hockey team lost on Wednesday night at Houghton College by the score of 6-1.

Shelby Lamb scored for Keuka College (0-2). Splitting time in goal, Kassidy Valentine made five saves and Aphiwe Joyisa made six saves for the Wolves.

The Highlanders got out to a fast start as they scored three minutes into the game on Wednesday night. They would add three more goals in the first half as they outshot the Wolves 11-1 in the frame. The Green and Gold closed the half on a high note as Nicole Wilson set up Shelby Lamb for a goal. Houghton remained ahead 4-1 at the half.

Houghton started the second half much like the first, scoring minutes into the frame. Their offense would slow as Joyisa played well in goal, making six saves. Houghton would add one more as they defeated the Wolves 6-1.

  • The Wolves have scored at least one goal in all three meetings with the Highlanders
  • It was the first action for Aphiwe Joyisa this season in goal. Her six saves were the most since she had eight in the 2016 season
