GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – For the first time in school history, Keuka College will play host to postseason field hockey. The North Atlantic Conference West Division Championship will be played at Keuka College on Saturday, October 28.
The game will face the host Wolves against Wilson College at 1pm at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex. Admission is free for the game.
Keuka will host by virtue of their 2-2 conference record. They finished in a tie with Wells College and Wilson College, but won out on tie-breakers.
The Wolves will face a familiar opponent in Wilson College. Keuka College hosted Wilson a week ago and defeated the Phoenix 2-1.
This will be the first ever postseason game for the three-year-old program. Keuka College set a new program record this season with three wins and a pair of conference victories. This season will also go down as the best offensive season in the programs brief history.
Morrisville State finished atop the conference standings at 4-0, receiving the North Eastern Athletic Conference Regular Season Championship. However, the Mustangs were not eligible to play in the championship since they also compete in the SUNYAC.
The winner of the Wolves vs. Phoenix matchup will advance to the NAC Crossover Championship on November 4 with a berth to the 2017 NCAA Division III Field Hockey Tournament on the line. The site of that game is still to be determined.
