KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Keuka College Field Hockey team lost on Wednesday afternoon to SUNY Geneseo 4-0 in their final game of the 2016 season.
Keuka College finishes the year with a 1-15 record. The Wolves were 1-2 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play.
SUNY Geneseo opened the game on Wednesday on the offensive. The Keuka defense held early on with Elizabeth Sherman making three saves in the first six minutes of action. The pressure continued as the Wolves were unable to generate a shot in the half. The Knights broke the scoreless tie with 13 minutes left in the half, converting on a penalty stroke. SUNY Geneseo added two more goals on their way to the 3-0 halftime lead.
The Knights scored early in the second half to take a 4-0 lead over the Wolves. Keuka College was able to generate some offense in the half. They had a penalty corner that led to a shot on goal by Brianna Coia, but it was saved. The Wolves later got a shot by Alyssa Orsino, but it was stopped as well by the Knights goalkeeper. Kassidy Valentine held Geneseo scoreless in her 23 minutes of action as the game ended with SUNY Geneseo defeating Keuka College 4-0.
