Eagles Top Wolves in Field Hockey

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Keuka College Field Hockey team fell to Juniata College 5-0 on Tuesday evening at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex.

The Wolves (0-9, 0-1 NEAC) will remain at home on Sunday, hosting Rensselaer at 1pm.

Freshmen goaltenders Aphiwe Joyisa and Kassidy Valentine split time in the net for the Wolves. Joyisa led Keuka with six saves and Valentine had four.

Keuka opened the game playing stellar defense, but they struggled to get things going on the offensive end. Eventually, Juniata's offensive pressure wore on the Green and Gold, and near the mid-way point in the half, they connected on a pair of shots as the Eagles carried a 2-0 lead into halftime.

Juniata continued to have success offensively in the second half. The Keuka defense was able to keep things even for the majority of the half, but Juniata was able to capitalize on their penalty corners. Juniata College scored three goals in the half on their way to the 5-0 victory over Keuka College.
