Keuka College Shutout at Elmira

PINE VALLEY, N.Y. – The Keuka College Field Hockey team lost to hosts Elmira College 4-0 on Wednesday afternoon

Keuka College (0-7) return home to the Jephson Community Athletic Complex on Saturday, hosting Morrisville State in a North Eastern Athletic Conference game.

Alyssa Orsino and Jade Earle each had a pair of shots on goal for Keuka College. All three goalies saw action for the Wolves with Kassidy Valentine leading the group with four saves.

Elmira College came out early forcing eight penalty corners in the opening 10 minutes of play. The Soaring Eagles broke through after the final one for a 1-0 lead. After falling behind 2-0 with 10 minutes left in the half, Keuka was able to take possession into the offensive end. They forced a penalty corner, but Jade Earle's shot was saved and Elmira led 2-0 at halftime.

The Green and Gold came out strong in the second, with multiple shots in the first minute of the second half. They were unable to score as the play flipped to the other end, but Valentine was up to the challenge in goal. The offensive attack would increase for the Wolves in the half with nine shots on goal and five penalty corners, but they were unable to find the back of the net. Elmira College added a pair of goals on their way to a 4-0 victory.
