MADISON, N.J. – The Keuka College Field Hockey team fell on the road at Drew University on Saturday by the score of 4-0.
The Wolves (0-4) return to the field on Wednesday, September 21 at Oswego State as they face the Lakers at 4pm.
Sophomore goalie Elizabeth Sherman made 17 saves for Keuka College in the loss.
The Rangers controlled the play early, but the Keuka defense held and only allowed two shots on goal and two penalty corners. 20 minutes into the contest, Drew got on the board to make it 1-0. The Rangers held Keuka College without a shot in the half and carried a 1-0 lead into the halftime break.
Drew University increased the offense in the second half. They launched multiple shots at the Wolves net. Sherman and the Keuka defense was up to the task, turning them away in the first 15 minutes of the second half. At the 50 minute mark, Drew connected a long pass down the center that got redirected into the goal for a 2-0 advantage. The Rangers added a pair of goals to make the score 4-0. Keuka was able to gain a penalty corner late in the second half, but were unable to capitalize as they fell to Drew 4-0.
