Hartwick Tops the Wolves in Field Hockey

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Keuka College Field Hockey team came up short against Hartwick College by a score of 5-1 on Saturday afternoon at the Jephson Community Athletic Comples.

The Wolves (0-2) are back in action on Wednesday, September 7, as they hit the road for the first time this season, to take on Houghton College. The game is scheduled for a 3:30pm start.

Sophomore Alyssa Orsino, scored the lone goal for the Wolves. The first half goal was her second of the season.

After an even start to the game, the Hawks got on the board first with a goal from Sarah Ryan. The Wolves were efficient in the half, and answered back with a goal from Orsino. The goal was scored on their only shot of the half. The Hawks answered back with a goal from Abby White, which brought the score to 2-1, in favor of Hartwick at halftime.

The second half began much like the first half. Keuka's defense kept the Hawks scoreless through the 19 minutes. Eventually, Hartwick's offensive attack was able to find a gap and Sarah Ryan scored for the second time. Minutes later, she completed the hat trick to make it 4-1. The Wolves offense got going towards the end of the second half, but they weren't able to capitalize. Hartwick added a goal late to give them the 5-1 victory.
