Keuka College Ends Season at Nazareth

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Keuka College Field Hockey team lost to Nazareth College by the score of 8-0 on Wednesday to close the 2015 season.

Keuka College finished its first field hockey season with a 2-13 record. The Green and Gold ended 1-2 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play and tied for second place.

Keuka came out fast against the Golden Flyers. They took the first three shots of the game and had a pair of penalty corners. Nazareth (9-9) withstood the early advances by Keuka and flipped the field on them. They took a rebound off the post and scored halfway through the first for the 1-0 lead. Nazareth added two goals and carried a 3-0 lead into halftime.

Nazareth continued to press Keuka in the second half. Twice in the half, the Golden Flyers would score a pair of goals in less than a minute. Overall, they totaled five goals in the second period, giving Nazareth the 8-0 victory over Keuka.

Ashley D'Amore and Brianna Coia each recorded a shot on goal for Keuka. Elizabeth Sherman stopped 16 shots, giving her 258 total saves her freshman season.
