BROCKPORT, N.Y. -- The Keuka College Field Hockey team lost a hard-fought game to Brockport State on Friday night by the score of 4-1.
The Green and Gold went on the offensive early. Alyssa Orsino collected the ball to the right of the goal and found Ashley D'Amore with the pass. D'Amore put the ball in the bottom left corner of the net for the 1-0 Keuka lead. Brockport would quickly answer, tying the game less than two minutes later. They then would add a pair of goals in the end of the first half to make the score 3-0 at the break.
The Golden Eagles netted their fourth and final goal of the game minutes into the second half. The margin could have been wider, but Elizabeth Sherman played well in goal and made 17 saves on the night for Keuka.
Keuka College will remain on the road this Wednesday when they travel to Utica College to face the Pioneers. The Green and Gold will then be back at home the following weekend on October 24 to face Wilson College in an NEAC showdown. A win over the Phoenix would secure Keuka College a place in the NEAC Field Hockey Championship Game in the program's first season.
