SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Keuka College Dance team earned a platinum award and a first place finish at the Elite Dance Challenge on Saturday, March 11.
The team, led by student-coach and senior Emily Radler, competed with twelve dancers, in a hip hop and jazz style number. Keuka College was awarded for their group number, "Oh Snap."
"It was a great opportunity for the team to compete considering some members have never danced nor gone to a competition before," commented Radler. "We have lost a few members due to internships and an injury but that didn't stop us from working hard and being the best we can be. I am so proud of all the hard work the team has put in to get ready for competition in just three weeks and it definitely paid off! I couldn't have asked for a better team!"
"Our dance team is made up of a great group of dedicated and talented students. I am glad that they get the opportunity to compete." said Michelle Wojnar, the Keuka College Club Sports Adviser. "At a competition like this that is comprised mainly of younger dancers, I think it's great that our dance team can be looked at as role models and show that you can continue dancing locally in college."
Your next chance to see the Dance and Step teams will be at the annual Keuka College Dance and Step Showcase. The event will be held in the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center on Friday, April 21 at 7:00pm.
