NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. – The Keuka College Cheerleading team finished in fourth place at the Battle at the Capitol Cheer and Dance competition in National Harbor, Maryland this past weekend.
The team earned a 92.47 for their performance on Sunday, improving over their 91.15 score on Saturday. The final routine was cleanly executed. The Wolves did not receive a single deduction.
"This is a great accomplishment for Keuka College Cheerleading. It was our first big two day competition, and the team performed great both days," said Head Coach Michelle Wojnar. "I was extremely proud of their performance yesterday, and made it clear that I thought they could still do better. They proved to themselves that they could. At the end of the day this program is still growing and as happy as we are with the results, we are already looking forward to building more skill, difficulty, and technique next year!"
The Wolves overall score averaged out to be a 91.81, less than half a point behind 2nd place Shepherd University. Elmira College walked away with the victory after earning a 95.97 overall score.
