KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Keuka College Cheerleading, Step, and Dance teams will be hosting a fundraiser for the American Heart Association on Saturday, February 18.
The fundraiser will coincide with the final regular season basketball games as Keuka College hosts the College of St. Elizabeth at 1pm and 3pm Saturday at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center.
"The team came up with the idea for this game," explained Head Coach Michelle Wojnar. "It makes me proud that they are excited and invested in giving back to such a great cause."
The teams will be selling red ribbons, cookies, and accepting donations for the American Heart Association at the games. There will be halftime performances from the Cheer, Step, and Dance teams. Fans are encouraged to wear red to show their support for heart health.
"Heart Disease is the number one killer in America in both men and women," said team captain Aggie Traudt. "Members of the Keuka College Cheerleading team have been directly affected by Heart Disease and we hope to raise money for the American Heart Association to help people with medical costs and living healthy lifestyles. We can all become more heart healthy by eating right and staying active. We invite you to show your support but donating, buying a cookie, or buying and wearing a red dress pin from us at the games on Saturday."
