KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The postseason accolades have continued for Keuka College junior shortstop Brooks Vertoske. He was named Second Team All-New York Region by both D3Baseball.com and the American Baseball Coaches Association and Rawlings.
Vertoske took over at shortstop this season, replacing graduating senior John Rizzo who did the double last season, albeit as a third team selection. Overall, Vertoske is the third different player and fourth overall selection to be honored by D3Baseball.com. He is the eighth all-region selection by the ABCA in program history.
Brooks Vertoske had a record-setting season for the Wolves. Overall, he finished in the top three in 10 different single-season categories in the Keuka College record book. The junior set a new school record with 43 runs scored and eight triples on the year. He also had the most at bats and tied for playing in the most games in program history. Vertoske displayed impressive power. He totaled 51 hits with 27 of those being for extra bases. Six home runs by Vertoske tied for the third most in program history and was the most by a Keuka College player since the 2013 season.
Vertoske helped guide the Wolves to a top seed and their third North Eastern Athletic Conference Regular Season Championship. He was also named the Keuka College Baseball MVP and selected by the NEAC coaches as First Team All-North Eastern Athletic Conference.
