KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Baseball team lost the opening game of the 2019 North Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament to Wells College 5-0 at Kuhl Field on Thursday afternoon.
Keuka College (25-15) drops to the consolation bracket and Wells College (18-20) advances to the winner's bracket when the tournament resumes on Saturday.

Wells College threatened early against the Wolves but left a pair of runners on in the top of the first inning. In the bottom of the first, the Wolves led off with a single but it was erased as a groundout to third was followed by the runner trying to go first to third and was thrown out for the double play.
The Express took the lead in the second as a single, stolen base, and a single gave the Express a 1-0 advantage. Wells doubled their lead in the third, scoring on a groundout, as the Express led 2-0 after three.
The Green and Gold only managed one base runner in the middle three innings as the Wells pitcher remained in control of the game. The Express added to their lead in the seventh with a run. The Wolves escaped further damage as the bases were left loaded by Wells.
The Express sealed the game in the ninth as Wells hit a two-run home run to left field as continued onto the 5-0 victory.
- The Wolves are now 6-2 all-time against Wells, snapping their four-game winning streak
- Keuka College falls to 2-8 in the opening game of the NEAC Tournament in program history. Overall, Keuka is 10-19 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament
- Daniel Steve started the game for the Wolves, striking out four in 4.2 innings of work. With his four strikeouts, Steve now has 52 on the season, setting a new single-season record at Keuka College
