Keuka College Baseball Earns ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award

GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Keuka College Baseball team received the Team Academic Excellence Award by the America Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) on Wednesday.

The Wolves were the lone team from the North Eastern Athletic Conference to earn the honor and one of just 76 Division III schools nation-wide to be honored.

On the field in 2018, Keuka College totaled 19 wins, 11 coming against North Eastern Athletic Conference competition, as the Wolves made it to the conference tournament for the second season in a row.

In the classroom, the Baseball team had a 3.13 team grade point average with 14 players being named North Eastern Athletic Conference Scholar-Athletes. Senior Dakota Skinner once again had a strong season on and off of the diamond. He was named Second Team All-North Eastern Athletic Conference and repeated as an Academic All-American.

It was the third season of the Academic Excellence program by the ABCA. To be eligible, a team has to be coached by an ABCA member and post a team GPA of 3.0 or greater. Overall, 287 college and high school programs received this year's award.
