For the second straight day, Keuka College's John Rizzo was named Third Team Shortstop for the New York Region. He was named as a part of the 2018 American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings NCAA Division III All-Region teams.
Rizzo was one of three players named from the North Eastern Athletic Conference, joining Cameron Upton from Gallaudet and Ryan McCarty from Penn St.-Abington.
John Rizzo's 47 hits this season ranked eighth in the NEAC. His school-record 30 walks was third-most in the conference and guided Rizzo to the second-best on-base percentage in the league. John Rizzo drove in 17 of his 26 runs during league games this season, ranking in the top ten in the NEAC.
He became the sixth player to be named All-Region by the ABCA and Rawlings. Mike Mullins first received the honor in 2003. Dominick Dashnaw followed him in 2006. Teammates Jon Borchert and Jake Burachalk were both honored in 2014 and Burachalk followed that up in 2015 as the only two-time honoree in school history. Last season, Dakota Skinner was named Third Team All-New York Region.
