GREENWOOD, Ind. —Keuka College Baseball's Dakota Skinner has displayed excellence on the playing field and in the classroom. His hard work was rewarded this week as Skinner was named First Team Division III Academic All-District 3 by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) for the third straight year.
The honor is a part of CoSIDA's Google Cloud Academic All-America program. District 3 consists of all the Division III schools in New York State. Skinner will now continue onto the national ballot to be named Academic All-America.
Dakota Skinner has totaled 44 hits this season with a .361 batting average. He was named Second Team All-North Eastern Athletic Conference, ranking ninth in the league in hits. For his career, he has moved into a tie for fifth in school history with 123 career hits. His most recent hit was a walkoff single against Lancaster Bible College in the first round of the North Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament.
Skinner was named Academic All-District for the third straight season. Last season, he moved on to be named Third Team Academic All-American by CoSIDA. The senior has posted a 3.92 GPA while majoring in Management with a concentration in Sports Management while at Keuka College.
Dakota Skinner and the rest of the Keuka College Baseball team will fight for a conference championship and berth into the NCAA Tournament this weekend. Keuka College will face hosts Penn St.-Berks in the first game of the final four of the North Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament on Friday.
