ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Keuka College Baseball team swept North Eastern Athletic Conference foe SUNY Poly 7-1 and 13-3 on Wednesday in a doubleheader at the University of Rochester.
The games had to be moved to the turfed home of the Yellowjackets due to the field conditions at Kuhl Field at Keuka College.
Dakota Skinner combined for five hits in the two wins for Keuka College (5-7, 2-0 NEAC). Tyler Krowiak had four hits and four runs scored. Dave Nuzzo and John Rizzo each had three hits on the day for the Wolves.
On the mound, Bryan Johnsen and Ryan Caroway each earned the wins for Keuka College. Johnsen went the complete game in the first inning. Ryan Caroway struck out six in his seven innings of work in game two. Both starters combined to allow only one walk in their 14 innings of work.
Keuka College 7 vs. SUNY Poly 1
The Wolves took an early lead on Wednesday with runs being plated on a fielder's choice and an error to lead 2-0 after two innings. The Wildcats got one back in the fifth, but the Keuka's offense responded in the bottom of the sixth. The Green and Gold had timely hitting and took advantage of Wildcat errors as Keuka scored five in the inning to build a 7-1 lead. Johnsen did the rest, finishing out the complete game in the seventh for the 7-1 victory.
Lead Wolf: Dakota Skinner went 3-4 at the plate in Game 1 for Keuka College. He tied his career-high with three hits which was set earlier this season. Skinner also drove in a pair of runs and scored one himself in the win.
Keuka College 13 vs. SUNY Poly 3
SUNY Poly scored a run in the top of the inning but Keuka College answered with three in the bottom of the first. RBI singles by Krowiak, Rizzo, and Kyle Colegrove gave the Green and Gold the lead. Keuka added to the lead with three in the third and the fourth. Dave Nuzzo hit a two-run double in the fourth and John Rizzo plated him with a double of his own. Overall, Keuka College belted out 17 hits in the game and the pitching staff allowed only nine by SUNY Poly as Keuka College continued onto the 13-3 victory, sweeping the doubleheader.
Lead Wolf: Catcher Tyler Krowiak led the Keuka College offense in Game 2. The sophomore had a career-high four hits and tied his career best with three runs scored in the game.

Coming up for Keuka College: The Wolves take to the road this weekend, travelling to Cazenovia College for a pair of conference games. Cazenovia leads the all-time series against Keuka 33-17, but the Wolves won both meetings last season.
