Senior Jon Borchert and the Keuka College baseball team dropped a 5-3 decision to the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Tuesday afternoon.

Freshman Brian Colbert (Dryden, N.Y./Dryden) recorded a three-hit game and extended his hitting streak to six games, but the Keuka College baseball team fell to the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh 5-3 Tuesday in a non-conference game Winter Haven, Fla.

Colbert went 3-for-4 with a run scored, and senior Jon Borchert (Upper Arlington, Ohio/Upper Arlington) was 2-for-4 with an RBI in the loss for the Wolfpack (2-4).

Colbert has now hit safely in all six Keuka contests to start his collegiate career.

Senior Conner Anderson (Missoula, Mont./Sentinel) also drove in a run for the Green and Gold.

Wisconsin-Oshkosh (5-4) jumped out to a 3-0 lead thanks to a bases-loaded walk, a sacrifice fly out and an RBI single in the second inning.

Senior Keith Ryan (Fort Myers, Fla./Ave Marie University) came on in relief and clamped down, allowing only two runs (one earned) on six hits with two strikeouts over 6 2/3 effective innings of relief.

The Green and Gold got two runs back in the top of the third. Freshman Jake Redding (Victor, N.Y./Victor) led off by reaching on an error, moved up to second on a sacrifice bunt, went to third on a passed ball and scored on a failed pickoff attempt.

Borchert then closed the deficit to 3-2 when he delivered an RBI single into center field that scored senior Jake Burachalk (Binghamton, N.Y./Binghamton).

Colbert followed with a single and junior Brett Fenton (Troy, N.Y./Hudson Valley CC) reached on a fielder's choice to put runners on the corners with two outs. But a strikeout ended the threat.

Oshkosh extended its lead to 4-2 on an RBI groundout in the fifth, and got an RBI double in the sixth to lead 5-2.

Keuka scratched out one run in the top of the eighth. Colbert dropped a single into right field and moved to third on Fenton's single through the middle. Anderson plated Keuka's third run on a fielder's choice, but Oshkosh retired the final five batters to clinch the win.

Keuka plays Colby College in a non-conference doubleheader Wednesday as part of the 12-game, eight-day RussMat tournament.
